It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so why not kick off the festive season by heading down to the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway for the famous Santa Specials!

Fun for all the family – all aboard the magical Christmas Express! Hauled by a steam locomotive, delight in a return journey to Lapland Central.

Whilst waiting to see Santa, adults can enjoy seasonal refreshments including mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine in Mrs Claus’ Kitchen. There will also be refreshments and snacks for the children to enjoy.

Additionally, entertainment and activities will be provided for all ages during this special encounter with Santa, Mrs Claus and their elves. This includes Christmas carolling, letters to Santa, activity sheets and more!

You will be led by our mischievous elves to Santa’s beautifully decorated Grotto to spend some quality time with the man himself and receive a special gift. After all, Santa knows if you have been bad or good!

Photography is permitted throughout this experience.

Your Santa Special experience will last for approximately 1 ½ hours.

All bookings incur a £1.50 booking fee per transaction (not per ticket).

Important On the Day Information

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your allotted train time. This will allow a prompt start and pleasurable experience for all. 
  • You MUST come to the Lakeside Station (DN35 0AG) which is opposite the Premier Inn and Brewer’s Fayre 15 minutes prior to your train. You will not be able to access the event from any other station.
  • There is a pay and display car park next to Lakeside Station, please make sure you pay and display!
  • Please dress accordingly – you will be outside at times and it can get extremely chilly on board the train.
  • If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know upon booking. 

  • Booking Information

  • Please ensure you have the correct date, time and total number in your party when booking. 
  • This event uses e-tickets that you print at home or can show via an app on the day
  • Once places are allocated, if additional tickets are bought for your group, we cannot guarantee we will be able to add extras.
  • If you wish to sit with another party, please make the booking in one name.
  • Please note gifts are only given to children, when booking you will be asked for the ages of the child(ren) so that we can give the correct age appropriate gift.
  • Assistance dogs only are permitted to the event.
  • We regret there is no wheelchair access on the Lapland Central Express. If the wheelchair user can transfer, staff will assist with boarding and alighting the train. 

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Once booked, we do not offer refunds of monies paid for tickets. Limited changes may be possible subject to availability. 
  • Should any advertised train be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability) or a full ticket refund will be provided. We will not be liable for any consequential loss. 
  • No refunds will be provided should you miss any train that still operates, including in cases of severe weather or illness.
