Santa Specials

5th, 6th, 12th, 13th and 19th – 24th December 2020

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so why not kick off the festive season by heading down to the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway for the famous Santa Specials!

Fun for all the family – all aboard the magical Christmas Express, immerse yourself in magical storytelling as this very special train takes you on a return journey to Lapland Central. 

Whilst waiting to see Santa, adults can enjoy seasonal refreshments including mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine, with juice and biscuits for the children. There will be letters to write to Santa, activity sheets and more to keep all entertained!

Once it is your time, you will be led by our mischievous elves to the beautifully decorated Grotto to spend some quality time with the man himself and receive a special gift. After all, Santa knows if you have been bad or good!

We have spent considerable time planning this event to allow for our COVID-19 safety measures to be upheld. Therefore the experience is altered from previous years. Each group will be sat in their own social bubble and there will be reduced capacity on each train to enable social distancing. 

Your Santa Special experience will last for approximately 1 hour.

Advance booking is essential and all bookings incur a £1.50 booking fee per transaction (not per ticket).

Booking Information

All those in one transaction will be treated as a ‘social bubble’ and will therefore be seated together without any social distancing. Please ensure that if you are booking on behalf of others outwith your ‘bubble’, it is under a separate transaction.

It is likely that face coverings will be required (unless you are exempt) in our station facilities. 

Please ensure you have the correct date, time and total number of visitors when booking. 

On the day of your experience, you will need to bring your order confirmation either printed or shown on a device as proof of your booking.

Once places are allocated, please contact us directly if you require additional tickets for your group. We cannot always guarantee this will be possible.

Gifts are only given to children – when booking you will be asked for the age group of the child(ren) so that an age appropriate gift is given. If your child’s age is towards the end of a category, we advise moving up to the next age category.

Only assistance dogs are permitted to the event.

We regret there is no wheelchair access on the Christmas Express. If the wheelchair user can transfer, staff will assist with boarding and alighting the train.


Cancellation & Refund Policy

Once booked, we do not offer refunds of monies paid for tickets. Limited changes may be possible subject to availability. 

Should any advertised train be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability) or a full ticket refund will be provided. We will not be liable for any consequential loss. 

No refunds will be provided should you miss any train that still operates, including in cases of severe weather or illness.
