Santa Specials

9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd & 24th December 2023

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so why not kick off the festive season by heading down to the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway for our famous Santa Specials!

Fun for all the family – all aboard the magical Christmas Express, immerse yourself in festive wonder as this very special train takes you on a journey to Lapland Central. 

Whilst waiting to see Santa, inside cosy Mrs Claus’ Kitchen, adults can enjoy complimentary seasonal refreshments including mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine, with juice and biscuits for the children. There will be the chance to have a ride on Santa’s sleigh, write your letter to Santa, make your own Reindeer food and much more to keep all entertained!

Once it is your time, you will be led by our mischievous elves to the beautifully decorated Grotto to spend some quality one to one time with the man himself and receive a special gift.

Your Santa Special experience will last for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Dates & Times

Santa Specials will take place on 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd & 24th December 2023.

​Trains depart at 12pm, 12:40pm, 13.20pm, 14:00pm, 15:20pm, 16:00pm* & 16:40pm* Trains marked * will not run on the 24th of December

​Please note the time you book is your DEPARTURE time, NOT your arrival time!

Ticket Prices 

Adult: £14.95 (£16.95 Christmas Eve)
Child (12 months – 16 years): £16.95 (£19.95 Christmas Eve)
Infant (under 12 months) gift & on knee: £9.95 (£11.95 Christmas Eve)
Infant (under 12 months) no gift & on knee: Free of Charge

Advance booking is essential and all bookings incur a £2.50 booking fee per transaction (not per ticket).

Booking Information

– No concessions, passes or promotions are valid for the Santa Specials
– All those in one transaction will be seated together.
– Please ensure you have the correct date, time and total number of visitors when booking as tickets are not transferrable. 
– On the day of your experience, you will need to bring your order confirmation either printed or shown on a device as proof of your booking.
– Gifts are only given to children – when booking you will be asked for the age group of the child(ren) so that an age appropriate gift is given. If your child’s age is towards the end of a category, we advise moving up to the next age category.
– Only assistance dogs are permitted to the event.
– We regret there is no wheelchair access on the Christmas Express. If the wheelchair user can transfer, staff will assist with boarding and alighting the train.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable unless the event/service is cancelled by CCLR.

Should any advertised train be cancelled by CCLR due to unforeseen circumstances, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability) or a full ticket refund will be provided. We will not be liable for any consequential loss. 

No refunds will be provided should you miss any train that still operates, including in cases of severe weather.
