Essential Companion Admission Policy

 

Welcoming Everyone to Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway

 

At Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, we are committed to making our attraction as accessible and inclusive as possible. We warmly welcome visitors who require support from an essential companion during their visit.

We recognise that some guests may need assistance to fully enjoy our attraction, and our Essential Companion Admission Policy has been designed to help make visits both enjoyable and affordable.

 

What is an Essential Companion?

 

An Essential Companion is someone whose presence is necessary to enable a disabled visitor or person with additional needs to access and enjoy our attraction safely and comfortably.

This may include providing physical assistance, communication support, personal care, guidance, supervision, or other essential support during the visit.

 

Our Essential Companion Offer

 

Visitors who require an Essential Companion can purchase their own admission ticket as normal, and their Essential Companion will receive 20% off the relevant admission price.

The discount applies to one Essential Companion accompanying the eligible visitor.

 

Evidence Required

 

To keep the scheme fair for everyone, we ask visitors to provide one form of supporting documentation.

We understand that every disability or support need is different, and we aim to be flexible and respectful when reviewing evidence.

Accepted forms of evidence include:

• Disability Living Allowance (DLA) award letter
• Personal Independence Payment (PIP) award letter
• Attendance Allowance award letter
• Access Card
• Disabled Persons Railcard
• Current letter from a healthcare professional or social services confirming support needs

Documents may be shown in printed or digital format.

 

Our Approach

 

We understand that some disabilities and conditions are not visible. Our team will always approach these situations with sensitivity, discretion and respect.

We do not require visitors to disclose detailed medical information, and all information provided will be treated confidentially.

 

Additional Information

• The Essential Companion discount is available for one companion per eligible visitor.
• The companion must remain with and support the visitor during their visit.
• The offer cannot be combined with other discounts unless stated otherwise.
• We reserve the right to request supporting documentation where appropriate.
• Management reserves the right to amend this policy if required.
